I'm perpetually asked this:

"When did you write your first critical/political theory?" Answer: I wrote my first five theories (I think, 5 or 8) at 24. I worked on corrections to epistemology and completed my own system plus metatheory to my theories at age 25 through 26. At 27, I finished puzzles of "truth-theory" (doing away with the paradox) & the faults of deductive application & the need for solid induction in theory-work. (Book, irreverent as it is, is still in the process of editing [by me--for the 50th time] & publication.) The challenge for the theoretician is not to make theories for the sake of furthering one's career or vanity (such is the custom in academic communities however, thus the flood of mediocre "variations" or mere borrowings revised, guided by unfortunate induction); the point is to formulate those that are needed, corrective/corrected, innovative/inventive, and, this is most important, sustainable once put to use or compared to the case inspected. Test and test and test ideas in which you seek firm anchorage for evaluations--ideas yours or loaned.
